Timothy Darr, 32, was wanted by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for felonious assault, weapons under disability, tampering with records and drug possession charges, according to Marshal Anne Murphy.

Darr was briefly listed as the U.S. Marshals Lorain County Fugitive of the Week, Murphy said, and he turned himself in at the Sheriff’s Office on Monday afternoon. It is not clear how long he was on the run or what the exact nature of his crimes were because police reports were not available Monday.

Elyria police and U.S. marshals initially looked for Darr about 3 p.m. He was described as armed and dangerous, according to police radio traffic, and was sought in neighborhoods off Cleveland Street after receiving word that he lived in the area.

A perimeter was formed in the area of Gulf Road and state Route 57 between state Route 113 and Cleveland Street as law enforcement looked for Darr. Police didn’t find Darr, and they said he slipped through the perimeter and headed to the Sheriff’s Office to turn himself in.

Darr was being held in the Lorain County Jail and a booking officer said he was also wanted on charges in Medina County.
