LORAIN – Two burglary suspects have been arrested following two incidents on April 28 and May 13.
According to a release from the Lorain Police Department, Marlon Smith, 18, of Lorain, was arrested about an hour after a burglary in the 2900 block of Lexington Ave. Another suspect, Kevon Coleman, 18, of Lorain, ran from the area and was not arrested.
On May 17, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest Coleman at his 1007 W. 21st Street residence and he fled. He was arrested a few days later in Cincinnati before being extradited to Lorain.
According to the release, Smith and Coleman had active warrants against them from an April 28 burglary and are facing additional weapons charges stemming from other residential break ins.
Police said Smith has also been charged with possession of a schedule II substances and possession of a schedule III or IV substance.
“There are two of the most prolific burglars operating in the city of Lorain over the past several months,” the release said.
