Lorain Schools are on lockdown as Lorain Police look for a white male that approached three school-aged girls Thursday morning.

Police Sgt. Buddy Sivert said officers are still taking reports and gathering information.

It appears as if a man described as white, mid-20s, wearing all black and a black ski mask that covered his face approached three girls on the city’s west side on the side streets between Reid Avenue and Oakdale Avenue.

The girls were not hurt and quickly notified police.

Lorain Schools placed all buildings on lockdown as an added precaution as Lorain Police conducts its investigation.

“The Lorain City Schools is reminding all parents that its buildings have the latest security measures in place and are the safest place for children to be right now,” said Erin Gadd, district spokesperson. “We will provide additional details as soon as they become available and notify you as soon as the lockdown has been lifted.”
